Modern Gas Powered Scooters

Modern gas powered scooters are affordable, dependable and durable. Motorized gas scooters are not toys - they require care and maintenance just like a car. At between 25 to 60 miles per hour, gas scooters are fast enough to be a viable mode of transportation, and yet sedate enough not to burn up the tires. Many people ride gas scooters to work, school, to run errands or just to have fun.

Gas scooters come in all shapes and sizes but they all have at least one thing in common - great gas mileage! Average scooter gas mileage ranges from 60 to 100 miles or more per gallon. Modern scooters usually have automatic transmissions (also called Twist'N'Go) and wheel diameters of 10 to 16 inches. The smallest scooters are made to carry only a driver, but most scooters are equipped to safely carry 2 passengers.

Modern gas scooter typically feature 2 stroke or 4 stroke engines. A 2-stroke engine does not have valves and is more responsive (faster) when starting up. A 2 stroke engine requires the owner to pour specific oil into a holding tank where it is then mixed with gasoline inside the carburetor. A 4-stroke engine is quieter and delivers a smoother ride which is nice for long distance riding. 4-stroke scooter engines are similar to car engines and do not require injection oil.

Gas scooters are fun for just about anyone. Scooters are easy to handle, fun to ride and extremely affordable. When you combine this with fantastic gas mileage and low maintenance costs, scooters are the perfect mode of alternative transportation that just about everyone can afford.
